Fnancing opportunity: Creative Force – Creative meeting places (Возможности финансирования Креативная енергия – Креативные места встречи)

The Swedish Institute’s Creative Force program provides funding for collaborative projects involving organizations in Sweden and in the countries specified below that work to bring about change by means of dialogue, communication and creative forums. The program is open to applications which aim to promote openness and democratic structures with the aid of projects in the fields of culture, media and related sectors.
Creative Force emphasizes the importance of culture and creativity for a country’s development, for strengthening democracy and for the right to express oneself freely. The aim is to help build respect for human rights, with particular focus on freedom of expression and women’s rights.
As of 2013 the Creative Force program comprises four geographic areas:
• Creative Force Africa: Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe
• Creative Force Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank/Gaza and Yemen
• Creative Force Eastern Europe and Western Balkans: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldavia, Serbia and Ukraine
• Creative Force Russia: North-western Russia
Two types of funding are available for each geographic area:
• Seed funding
• Funding for collaborative projects

Application periods
The following calls for funding will take place in 2013:
Seed funding: application deadlines 31 January, 15 May, 15 September
Collaborative projects: application deadline 31 January
The application period begins six weeks before each respective deadline.
